 I plans to drive 900km to my vacation destination, and driving an average of 50km/h. How many miles per hour faster must I average while driving, to reduce my total driving time by 3 hours.

    At a speed of 50km/h, the time to complete is : 

    \(t=\dfrac{s}{t}=\dfrac{900}{50}=18\left(hour\right)\)

    Change : 900 km = 900. 0,62137 = 559.233 miles 

    So , the velocity calculated by miles/hour is : \(\dfrac{599.233}{18}=33.29.....\approx33.291\)  (miles/hour)

    With the time complete in 3 hours, the velocity is : \(\dfrac{599.233}{3}=199.744\) (miles/hour)

    Hence, there are 199.744 - 33.291 = 166.453 (miles/hour) faster you must average while driving.

    One half \(=0,5\)

    From \(0,5\rightarrow2,25\)

    The number is two-thirds of the distance from 0,5 to 2,25 is \(\left(2,25-0,5\right)\cdot\dfrac{2}{3}=\dfrac{7}{6}\)

    So the number is \(\dfrac{7}{6}\left(=1\dfrac{1}{6}\right)\)

    We can easily prove that EFGH is a square

    \(\Rightarrow EH=EF=\dfrac{HF}{\sqrt{2}}=\dfrac{AB}{\sqrt{2}}=\sqrt{2}\left(m\right)\)

    The area of the sector EFH is : \(\dfrac{\left(\sqrt{2}\right)^2\pi}{4}=\dfrac{\pi}{2}\left(m^2\right)\)

    \(S_{EFH}=\dfrac{\left(\sqrt{2}\right)^2}{2}=1\left(m^2\right)\)

    When Simba left, the distance from Simba and Mary is 55 miles.

    Simba travel faster than Mary the number of mph is:

    65-55 = 10 (mph)

    So the time Simba catches up to Mary is:

    55 : 10 = 5,5 ( hours)

    Or 14 : 30 from the beginning
