    because ìf the first three shoes you picked, there is 2 cases :

    case 1: if three first shoes were different, the fourth one might be the one pair with one ò the three first shoes . 

    case 2: if three first shoes weren't diferrent, then there is 1 pair of shoe in the first 3 ones
