mix 25 tons of iron ore containing 72% iron with 25 tons of iron containing 60% irons .How many percent of iron ore does that mixture of iron ore contain?

First 25 tons of iron ore contain :

25 : 100 x 72 = 18 (tons of iron)

Second 25 tons of iron ore contain :

25 : 100 x 60 = 15 (tons of iron)

The mixture of iron ore weighs :

25 + 25 = 50 (tons)

The mixture of iron ore contains :

18 + 15 = 33 (tons of iron)

The percentage of iron to the mixture is :

33 : 50 = 66 : 100 = 66%

The percentage of iron ore to the mixture is :

100% - 66% = 34%
