Here’s a new twist to a puzzle. I’ll give you the question and answer here:
If 40 is added to \(\dfrac{1}{2}\) of a number, the result is triple the number.
The answer: 16
Now you show me how to solve this puzzle using an equation.

    We have:

    40 + 1/2a = 3a

    => 40 = 3a - 1/2a

               = 5/2 a

    => a = 40/5*2 = 16
