The cycle shop sells only bicycles and tricycles. All the bicycles have two wheels and all the tricycles have three wheels. If you add up the total wheels on the 67 cycles in the shop, you get 157 wheels. How many tricycles are in the shop?

Let a, b be the number of bicycles and tricycles in the shop

    \(\left\{{}\begin{matrix}a+b=67\\2a+3b=157\end{matrix}\right.\Rightarrow\left\{{}\begin{matrix}2a+2b=134\\2a+3b=157\end{matrix}\right.\)\(\Rightarrow b=23\)

    So, the answer is 23
