The area of the square is S2.

The area of the rectangle is \((S+3)(S-3)=S^2 - 9\)

So, the sum of the areas of 2 fingures is \(S^2+\left(S^2-9\right)=2S^2-9\).

The area of the square is S2.

The area of the rectangle is (S+3)(S−3)=S2−9

So, the sum of the areas of 2 fingures is S2+(S2−9)=2S2−9
