If Mike travels for 3 hours at a rate of 20 mi/h and then travels for 2 hours at a rate of 30 mi/h, what is his average speed, in miles per hour?

    The total distance Mike travels is : 20 x 3 + 30 x 2 = 120 (mi)

    The total time Mike travels is : 3 + 2 = 5 (hours)

    The answer is : 120 : 5 = 24 (mi/h)
