Six dollars were exchanged for nickels and dimes. The number of nickels was the same  as the number of dimes. How many nickets were there in the change.

    6 dollars = 600 cents ; 1 nickel = 5 cents ; 1 dime = 10 cents

    The total value of a nickel and a dime is : 5 + 10 = 15 (cents)

    The number of nickels in the change is : 600 : 15 = 40

    6 dollars ($6) = 600 cents, 1 nickel = 5 cents, 1 dime = 10 cents.

    There were: \(600:\left(5+10\right)=40nickels\)

    ANSWER: 40 nickels
