In the line diagram below, C, D and E are three points on the line AB. Given AB = 9,2cm and CE = 4,7cm, find the sum of the lengths of all line segments.

    The sum of the lengths of all line segments is :

    (AC + CD + DE + EB) + (AD + CE + DB) + (AE + CB) + AB

    = AB + (AB + CE) + (AC + CE + CE + EB) + AB

    = 3AB + CE + (AB + CE)  = 4AB + 2CE

    = 4 x 9,2 + 2 x 4,7 = 4 x 9,2 + 9,2 = 5 x 9,2 = 46 (cm)

    Hence,the answer is 46 cm
